What were you up to before joining Muve?
My career started in corporate communications and creative services at HealthNow New York Inc. As lead copywriter for the parent company of BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York and BlueShield of Northeastern New York, I translated complex information to easy-to-understand content for members, providers and key stakeholders alike. After HealthNow, I honed my skills in project management, content coordination and marketing strategy at SpeedPro Imaging, the headquarters of a large-format printing franchise.
Why did you join the Muve team?
Muve is doing something I’ve never seen before. Instead of sacrificing things that are important to patients (like convenience, cost, and quality of care) to meet the needs of doctors and insurance companies, Muve is putting the patient first – and making sure all parties are getting the best benefits possible. It’s also clear how much everyone at Muve is passionate about our purpose and carry that in their individual roles. It’s an amazing team with an amazing vision, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it!
What is the change that you want to see Muve make in the world of healthcare?
Healthcare is often seen as being complex, scary and cold. I want to see Muve flip those standards and change popular perception to think about healthcare for what it is meant to be: a safe space focused on wellness for all. After experiencing the Muve program, I have no doubt that patients will have a different outlook on healthcare and the standards it can and should exceed.Thoughtful design. I don’t believe in settling for “better.” We’re here to provide the best care, design, costs and experiences for our patients – and that passion is something that translates to all parts of Muve. By carefully crafting processes, partnerships and initiatives to be the best that they can be, I can feel confident that I’m providing patients with the most value possible.
Healthcare has changed both drastically and minimally in the past 20 years. On one hand, more providers and health insurance companies are starting to recognize the need for value-based care – i.e., focusing on the quality of care, rather than the quantity of it. Patients are also becoming more empowered to make educated decisions about their health. On the other hand, the healthcare industry is still incredibly slow to make significant changes. Patients still face issues like long wait times, uncoordinated care, and irregular billing. When you consider the pace of technology and medical innovations, it’s a no-brainer that more providers, facilities, and insurance companies need to step up to the plate and make the shift to patient-centric care.
Revolutionary.
