10 Questions with Muve Health: Meet Muve Lakeway Registered Nurse, Heather

As a client in the Muve Health program, your experience is two-fold: after you're discharged from Muve Lakeway Ambulatory Surgical Center, you then have the option to register as a client at our Muve Stay Suites and begin your road to recovery with the care and support of our expert team. Ensuring your safe and seamless transition from surgical outpatient to joint replacement champion is Heather, one of our home health registered nurses. After you become a client in our Stay Suites, Heather guides you through a series of educational sessions, goal setting and physical therapy - tracking your progress, helping you heal safely and making sure all goes smoothly as you start to take an active role in your recovery. What were you up to before joining Muve?

Before joining Muve, I was working in the pre-operative and post-anesthesia care units of an orthopedic hospital, caring for patients as they went into and came out of surgery.

Why did you choose to work in healthcare?

 

I chose to work in healthcare because I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. I love seeing people heal and get back to living their lives healthily and happily.

"Be the change you want to see in the world." What is the change that you want to see Muve make in the world of healthcare?

I want Muve to change the way people think about healthcare. I've been in the healthcare industry for 20 years and I've seen many changes, but nothing like what Muve has done with our comprehensive, innovative joint replacement program - focusing on an amazing client experience, self-care education and optimized outcomes.

How would you describe the members of the Muve Lakeway team?

 

At Muve Lakeway, every teammate is always looking for ways to improve our clients' experiences. There's not one person who isn't committed to going above and beyond to make sure our clients are getting an experience beyond what they could have ever imagined.

What Muve value do you steward and why?

"Niceness." I believe in treating people the way you would want your family, friends and loved ones to be treated. You have no idea what someone has been through or the cards they've been dealt in life. I think it's important to stop and listen, be attentive and be respectful of all. 

If you could describe Muve in one phrase, what would it be?

 

Exceptional.

 

What's your favorite way to "Get Up And Muving?"

 

Walking all four of my dogs!

 

What's your favorite Muve memory?

 

As one of the original "Muvers," I was on board when we first opened our facilities at Muve Lakeway. My favorite memory is when our first total joint replacement client walked through our doors!

It makes me proud to know our clients who go through the Muve program are truly getting the best, reimagined, holistic care for total joint therapy.
